Interested in connecting? A complimentary 30-60 minute birth doula consultation is available (virtual or in-person) to discuss any initial questions you may have, your birth vision, desires for labor support and to see if we are a good fit.

All birth doula support packages include back-up doula support and on-call support from 38 weeks of pregnancy until delivery. Although Birth by Mica does not offer traditional postpartum doula support, the Let’s Get Birthy package includes one (1) postpartum visit to process the birth story and the Let’s Get Birthy and Milky package includes in-home and virtual lactation support during the first two (2) weeks after the birth.

Birth by Mica, a San Jose based Birth Doula, offers support to the following areas: Peninsula (San Carlos, Menlo Park, Redwood City, East Palo Alto, Palo Alto, Los Altos) and South Bay Area (Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Santa Clara, San Jose, Los Gatos).

Ready to plan your birth experience? LET’S GET BIRTHY!

Let’s start by chatting about your birth values and finding the level of support that best fits your unique needs through a free virtual or in-person consultation. Whether you are looking for full doula labor support, personalized prenatal prep, or an in-person labor preparation workshop to help you feel more confident before baby arrives, I’m here to support you.

From the hands-on Body Ready Birth® labor preparation workshop to breastfeeding education and early lactation support, my services are designed to meet you exactly where you are in your journey.

I love spending time with clients to explore their birth values, create a personalized plan using evidence-based resources, and help them prepare their bodies for labor. I offer 24/7 on-call support from 38 weeks to delivery, with virtual and in-person availability throughout your pregnancy for guidance, reassurance, or just a listening ear.

Curious what that support looks like in action? Here's how we work together during pregnancy, labor, and beyond →

During our time together, we will practice:
Ligament releases and balancing movements
Functional labor positions and comfort techniques
Ways to prepare your body prenatally to support pelvic alignment and protect your pelvic floor during birth

As a birth team, we will work together to:
Learn ways to navigate common hospital protocols while protecting physiology
Identify coping strategies — no matter where or how you plan to give birth
Practice movements that create space for baby to move through the pelvis with more ease.

Birth Doula clients will also receive a Labor Toolkit that includes:
Evidence-based pocket guides
A TENS unit
Visual movement guides to support you and your partner during labor

During labor, I provide:
Virtual support in early labor
In-person support during active labor—at home or your chosen birth location—until about one hour after birth
First latch support (if desired)
Photos and videos to help capture meaningful moments

Want to learn how to prepare for the early days of feeding a newborn?

LET’S GET MILKY!

I'm here to help! Join me for a private in-person prenatal lactation class, where we will review the physiology of making milk, how to identify an effective latch, how your support person can assist with feeding positions, and how to skillfully navigate your first few days feeding a newborn. We will also review how to hand express colostrum, pumping, paced bottle feeding and how to troubleshoot common challenges. Learning about how the body creates milk, how to develop a strong foundation for your milk supply, and how you and baby work together during breastfeeding can help take some of the mystery out of this new path. Let’s work together to make your lactation journey a positive experience for you and your baby.
